At Ohara Estate, we believe exceptional wine begins with a philosophy of stewardship, curiosity and respect for the land. We believe minimal intervention across the vineyard and in the winery creates exceptional wines where Mother Nature imprints her true self on every vintage showcasing a true sense of place and time.

It is the result of thoughtful decisions, careful observation and an unwavering respect for the land. Every season presents a new opportunity to learn, every vintage adds another chapter to our understanding, and every bottle reflects the choices made long before the grapes arrive at the winery.

Our philosophy is built upon four guiding principles.

    Every decision begins in the vineyard. From understanding our soils and microclimates to nurturing healthy vines and harvesting at the right moment, we believe exceptional fruit is the foundation of exceptional wine.

    No two parts of our vineyard are the same.

    Ancient river gravels, clay soils, changing elevations and subtle differences in aspect create fruit with its own unique personality. Rather than blending these distinctions away, we celebrate them.

    Our role is not to create character, but to reveal it.
