A Way of Living

A small, independent wine estate shaped by land, patience and four generations of Hawke’s Bay farming.

We Are Growers, Custodians and Makers.

Ohara Estate is a small, independent wine estate in the Bridge Pa Triangle, Hawke’s Bay, built from a desire to make wine with a genuine connection to the land it comes from.

We are not a corporation or an investment company. We are growers, custodians and makers, building something enduring on land that has been farmed by our families for generations.

Our Philosophy

Great wine begins long before the grapes reach the winery

01

The Vineyard Comes First

Great wines are grown before they are made. The winery should never overshadow what the vineyard has already achieved.

02

Every Decision Must Have Purpose

We question everything. Nothing is done simply because it has always been done that way.

03

Let the Vineyard Speak

No two parts of our vineyard are the same. Our role is not to create character, but to reveal it.

04

Never Stop Learning

Wine is a lifelong pursuit of knowledge. The pursuit of excellence has no finish line.
